Hodmedod's Organic Wholegrain Farro (Emmer) 500g – Ancient Grain

Enjoy our range of whole grains all grown regeneratively here in the UK and sourced through our partner Hodmedods. Emmer or Farro is an ancient whole grain with a deliciously nutty flavour. It makes a great alternative to rice, which is higher in protein and fibre. Enjoy it as a side, in a risotto, stew or casserole. Our emmer/farro is grown by Jeremy Dickin in Lincolnshire.

Cooking instructions

Add cooked emmer - or if cooking time allows, dry grains - to stews and casseroles.

Add cooked or toasted grains to salads.

Mill uncooked emmer grains to produce a tasty and versatile flour.

Cooking instructions
Rinse, bring to the boil, then simmer until tender (about 25 to 30 minutes). Speed up cooking by pre-soaking for a few hours.
